This is a list of techniques that can be taught at the dojo. To research a technique, you must have a technique of the same category of one tier below, e.g. to research the Spear Tier 3 Technique, must have researched the Spear Tier 2 technique first. TIER 1 TECHNIQUES - 1000 Gold Advanced SpearsSpears become stronger. - Adds a 1.25x multiplier in damage calculation if using spears. Advanced PikesPikes become stronger. - Adds a 1.25x multiplier in damage calculation if using pikes. Advanced BowsBows become stronger. - Adds a 1.25x multiplier in damage calculation if using bows. Advanced CavalryCavalry become stronger. - Adds a 1.25x multiplier in damage calculation if using cavalry. Foreign TiesAble to use special troops depending on the region you are on. These troops have their pros and cons, that will be listed later. SiegeStronger attack against constructions (gates, walls etc.) - Adds a 2x multiplier when attacking constrcutions; 1.5x when equipped with a siege weapon. ProvidenceForces a duel with an opposing officer. FameIncreases number of troops drafted. - Adds a 1.5x multiplier on Recruit Troops formula.

TIER 2 TECHNIQUES - 2000 Gold Spear ProvisionsIncreases max spear unit's command by 3000. Withstand ArrowsAdds a 0.7x multiplier when defending against a bow unit with pikes. Counter FireWhen attacked by bows when equipped with bows, retaliate dealing half the damage received. Horse BreedingCan produce light cavalry w/o stable. ArsonAble to set enemies on fire. Formula for damage: (INT - int) x 10. Note: if your INT is lower than the enemy int, then fire automatically fails. RampartIncreases buildings' HP by 20%. WitsForces a debate with an opposing officer. AdmiralDamage when using ships increase. - Adds a 1.5x multiplier to damage formula.

TIER 3 TECHNIQUES - 5000 Gold SurpriseSpears can retaliate attacks dealing one tenth of the original damage. Pike ShieldsAdds a 0.7x multiplier when defending against any attack with pikes. Arbalest CrossbowsCrossbows become stronger against constructions. - Adds a 1.75x multiplier when attacking constructions with crossbows. HorsebowsCavalry can use bows to attack from a distance. - Heavy cavalry only. PyromaniacDamage dealt by fire increases by 50%. Platinum WallsAdds a 0.5x multiplier when enemy attacks city's walls. SupermanIf dueling an officer which LDR + WAR + 20 < your LDR + WAR, automatically wins the duel. - Only with NPC's. Spy CaptainWatchtower/shooting tower range goes up to neighbor cities' walls.

TIER 4 TECHNIQUES - 10000 Gold FiretipSpears can deal fire damage. - Can only be used if Arson is researched first. - Pyromaniac's effect applies. Perfect DefensePikes can sacrifice three or more turns to nullify any enemy attacks targeting them. Piercing BoltsCrossbows' overall strength against cavalry increases. - Adds a 2x multiplier when facing cavalry with bows. Shadow HarnessCavalry's defense increases. - Adds a 0.5x multiplier when attacked and using cavalry. InfernoIncreases fire damage by 50%. - This technique stacks with Pyromaniac; this means that if your base fire damage is 500, it goes up to 750 with Pyromaniac and then to 875 with this. Silver WallsIncreases cities' HP by 60%. - This technique stacks with Rampart; this means that if your cities' base HP is 1000, it goes up to 1200 with Rampart and then to 1920 with this. MastermindIf debating an officer which INT + 20 < your INT, automatically wins the debate. - Only with NPC's. OmniscientCan receive neighbor cities' and ally cities' watchtower/shooting tower reports.
